EuroAirport achieve significant cost savings with Aura Long Life
EuroAirport uses Aura Long Life. ”Aura Long Life lamps have a life of at least five years, therefore we can achieve significant cost savings at the same time as reducing the environmental impact of our lighting solutions.“
Thanks to its trinational location, EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg is today a symbol of international cooperation between France, Switzerland and Germany. In 2007, the EuroAirport welcomed over 4.5 million passengers through its doors. Its scheduled flights network directly serves 62 airports in around 30 different countries. A total of around twenty companies operate approximately 70 scheduled flights per day.
Aura Long Life reduces the frequency of lamp replacements
Jean-Marc Kuster, Electrics Department, tells us that they have chosen Aura lamps for two reasons:
”The first is due to the access to lighting fixtures. Inside the airport, the ceilings are high up and the lamps that are installed are often difficult to access. By choosing Aura Long Life compact fluorescent lamps, we have been able to reduce the frequency of lamp replacement by 66%, at the same time as improving passenger comfort. This also results in a significant reduction in maintenance costs of €12.25 (ex. VAT) per lamp, says Jean-Marc Kuster”.
”Second, we chose Aura Light lamps for environmental reasons. In fact, this move is in line with our environmental policy. We are thus reducing our carbon footprint as well as cutting by two thirds the number of lamps recycled. Based on 1000 installed Aura Light compact fluorescent lamps, we save 660 kg of CO2 associated with transporting the lamps and 360 kg associated with waste, lamp production and packaging, says Jean-Marc Kuster”.
Jean-Marc Kuster concludes. ”Aura Long Life lamps have a life of at least five years, therefore we can achieve significant cost savings at the same time as reducing the environmental impact of our lighting solutions.“
